Drilling work began in Teningen on 27 August 2019, marking the start of construction. The development is in south-western Germany, around 15 km north-west of Freiburg im Breisgau, between the Kaiserstuhl and the Black Forest. Two five-storey buildings are connected by an underground car park. Each building is planned to contain 19 barrier-free apartments.
The development is designed to be barrier-free and to accommodate people with reduced mobility. Wider corridors and doorways, together with adequate turning space, support wheelchair access. The bathrooms are also designed without thresholds.
All residents of the compound will enjoy a possibility to come out into a balcony and freely visit a roof terrace where they can command a lovely view.
The enclosed court of the compound is improved; there is a café nearby offering rest and communication.
The building and the entire area are fully supervised by a caretaker. If the desire exists, the dwellers may get additional services at extra charge.
